Witchita KS

I just found out the Air Force is sending me to McConnell AFB in Wichita, KS for my first assignment when I graduate. Does anyone have any tips on how to find land for deer, turkeys, geese, and rabbits along with any hunting tips for deer. I live in Northern Indiana now and I hunt some 30-50 acre woods along with a few thick ditch banks. I hunt from a tree 98% of the time. Am I in for a different hunting experience than what I have now? Thank you.

There are plenty of trees and wooded areas in that part of Kansas that would work well for hunting out of a tree. It might be pretty hard to get permision to hunt some of the prime hunting locations without a little $$ or knowing the right people. The good thing about Kansas is there are plenty of public walk-in hunting acres here that are good for deer, waterfowl, upland birds, and rabitts.

Get involved with the military land...there's always some parcels saved for our boys out there...used to have to sit and look at it while I was hunting public!
