Hunting NE Ohio Thanksgiving Week

I will be hunting in Holmes County Ohio 11/17-11/24 (between Youth Shotgun and Regular Shotgun seasons). Can anyone in this forum tell me what to expect for avg temps? snow? that time of year. Also, will the primary seeking/chase/breeding rut periods be over by then? Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!

well ,this year the weather has been unpredictable at best. record heat, but when you have your hunt set for should be cooler. for an exact forcast, go with a local tv station web site for that area. that will give you doppler radar and the works. good luck

Yes... The rut will be over by then and the "second" rut will not have begun (ussually early to mid-December).

The deer will be as always looking for food (so hunt food sources), put out some corn if you want to get one quick.

If you want a big buck you will need luck that time of year, as my experience is they tend to bed down as the hunt pressure increases.

To be honest, I don't even hunt "peak" shotgun season anymore other than to keep people off of my property and get my friends set up to take does. But hey... You never know. The weather might get very cold then and they could be moving around.
