Iowa???
 

I am going to Iowa this year in Des Moines county right next to the Goede state forest. If anyone has any knowledge on the area it would be appreciated. I am going with a friend of mine who's family own land there,I have seen some his family has killed and they looked pretty good. Also we are going Nov 9-17 will the rut be going on up there?? Thanks for the info.

should be easy pickins there. i hunted some land that boarder geode a few years ago and since itsa state park with no hunting the deer feel safe there. IMO if your friend has any fields such as corn or soybeans, hunt em. the deer will movefrom geode to ag. fields. If your not hunting super close to geode like I did however, theres still some awesome hunting all around that area.

Thanks alot, I am pretty sure there is alot of his land in ag fields that butt up beside goede, I was wondering if you had good luck there and what size deer did you kill. Thanks alot.

when i was there i dont think i hunted, i just sat with my dad. but we saw alot of deer and i remember dad took a doe and his friend shot a decent 9pt. if i did hunt then i missed, because it was last day i took mine. we wouldve went back to that property but we had some ground to hunt closer to home. If i ever get the chance to go back, im there. we also have a 10 pt on the wall that came from the property by geode. ill get a pic of it saturday and post. it has rediculous mass.
