RE: Will History Repeat Itself?
Lanse, the quail have all but disappeared out here in Lewisburg. I have not seen one in a couple of years now. Quite depressing really. I think that they are neat little birds. I have never hunted them. I just like watching them. I hope the make a come back.

RE: Will History Repeat Itself?
I should have clarified that i was referring to southern Illinois where I grew up and do most of my hunting. When i first moved to Ohio I was surprised when someone said that quail are rare here since lot's of western Ohio looks like quail heaven.

RE: Will History Repeat Itself?
I don't think it will happen again. Back then it was a free-for-all and today we have population studies, habitat studies, etc.
But just to be safe, I have my fingers crossed as I type this.;) |
RE: Will History Repeat Itself?
I think even if it does happen they will still sell alot of tags. At least here in Illinois because Blogo doesnt care about the deer population he cares about the $ that comes out of it, thats all hes worried about.

RE: Will History Repeat Itself?
When big money is in the equation anything can happen.Look at Pa. they will sale every animal they have and the heck with the future. We seem to be living in a disposable generation. [/align] |
RE: Will History Repeat Itself?
It was market hunting that made the population do what it did 50-60 yrs ago.

RE: Will History Repeat Itself?
Vehicle insurance companies, irritated homeowners that complain about bush and flower damage, some farmers and other property owners complain of the financial losses to deer This is becoming a pattern all over the country. And the People in charge, be it the DCNR, Fish and Game Depts.... whoever they're caving to the pressure. |
