deer farmers and cwd

I don't know much about deer farming but is it just me or shouldn't the D.N.R. stop these deer farmers from selling deer from one farm to the the next to try and contain the spread on cwd?

RE: deer farmers and cwd

From my understanding, there are regulations and procedures that must be followed before deer are transported from farm to farm. The trouble is, are these deer ranchers doing the necessary procedures? All these vet visits cost money, and the permits cost money. Will the DNR outlaw them, I doubt it. Too much money to be made on regulations and license, etc. If you ever talk to one of the deer ranchers, they will defend their position to the hilt, claiming they have too many regulations now, and that the disease did not come from them, and they are being blamed for the state problems. Who knows. The main point is that CWD is here, and must be dealth with. What the DNR does will be anyones guess.
