RE: OHIO
Yup, january is the time to hit a good food plot. Deer starting to yard up at that time. I like to hunt cut cornfields, a lot of loose corn still laying on the ground, easy pickins for deer. Bigger bucks kinda stay to themselves but they still chow at times during daylight. Lotta people around here give up after gun season goes out but when it gets cold, they move during the warmest part of the day more often. That's my theory anyways...good luck..

If you can find standing corn in January you bet I would be hunting it. Food plots can be good if the right plants are present. The deer basically quit moving much and so you have to get between their bedding areas and the food.
