Wisconsin Bear Hunters.........

I have posted this in other forums with little replies. This year I should be drawn for a Wisconsin bear tag (this was 6th point). This will be my first bear hunt, so I have a few questions....

1) Do you prefer bait or dogs. I've heard dogs are a blast, but bait is more up close and personal.

2) What weapon do/would you prefer to hunt bears with? A rifle, muzzleloader, or bow? (don't know how I feel about usinga bow my first time bear hunting)

3) Does anyone know of any guides they would recommend. (Zone A or A1)

Thanks

RE: Wisconsin Bear Hunters.........

I prefer hunting baited stands with a bow. I am lucky where I can have 2 or 3 bait sites a mile or so apart. If it is your first time then I would consider a rifle or muzzle loader but shooting one with the bow is fun.

Can't really give you a guide. I self guide myself so sorry on that.
