there is some talk about allowing "cowboy cartridge" like 30-30 45-70 guns with a 200 yd range but its only light talk and its not for a couple of years. The reason is ml have this range and studies show the type of gun is not what is causing accidents like we didnt know that

My 12ga shooting 3" Lightfields is decent up to 175 yards...my Knight Revolution is 4" low at 200 yards.

I'm not sure why the guys calling the shots fear rifles.

It's making it's way toward the Legislature , possibly in time for next year's firearms season . Nothing high velocity , just leverguns and other slower cartridges .

Northern IN is so flat you could just about shoot across it with a slug gun anyway. :D

Man this is a rampant rumor..

It's on the books for consideration next year... it will allow the use of straight walled pistol cartridges in a rifle.. like .357, .44mag, ect.. I don't think all of the particulars have been completely worked out... but according to the COs that I've talked to.. it's pretty much a done deal.

As for flatlanders... these cartridges have about the sameor less rangethan a rifled slug gun.. and less than a modern muzzleloader.

NE Indiana isn't flat at all...not sure why anyone would think that.

Besides much of Indiana being flat, we have too many people per square mile to use hi-po rifles. IMO, we don't need those anyways. If you need anymore than a shotgun (or a modern muzzy) you're in the wrong spot.

Pat.. these aren't high power rifles... they are carbines w/ less punch than a 20ga slug gun... more akin to a .410 slug. Range is 100yds for the most part.

My only question is this the gateway to high power rifles.. or is to appease the guys who want high power rifles?
