IL, ground blinds must have orange.
This applies to public hunting areas during firearm deer seasons.
From the IL 2006-2007 hunt regs, page 31. • Blaze Orange Requirement – Ground Blinds onPublic Hunting Areas. It is unlawful to use or occupya ground blind during any firearm deer seasonon public land unless at least 400 square inches ofsolid vivid blaze orange material is securelyattached to the uppermost portion of the blind anda substantial amount of orange is visible for 360degrees. |

Thanks Bulzeye, I wasn't aware of that rule.

RE: IL, ground blinds must have orange.
I was surprised to see it too.
I almost missed it myself. It wasn't on the regular deer hunting pages, but further towards the back in the Public Hunting Areas section. |
RE: IL, ground blinds must have orange.
But not a bad idea in any state

RE: IL, ground blinds must have orange.
I always throw a couple of orange vests on top of my ground blind. It never hurts to be too safe, especially when you can conceal them very well with limbs and folage.
