Default Northern Miiiiiichgaannnn!!!!!!!

I going up north, Johannesburg, Mi on monday for at least 2-3 weeks! I can't wait! I spent all last week up at the cabin and the color was at peak! I'm sure this past week the leaves have pretty much dropped with the rain and wind you seem to be having!
I was doing some scouting and didn't find any rubs or scrapes! I'm hoping is going to pick up! Have you guys had any luck or any good sign on things to come??

Good luck I will be outside of Newberry the week of thanksgiving. Never hunted the U.P.

Good luck, I have never hunted the U.P either! My property is in Northern Michigan, the lower, not the U.P., east of Gaylord about 20 miles!

I do want to give the U.P. a try one of theses days!

I have not been seeing any scrapes and only one rub in Houghton Lake. I expect it to pick up end of next week. Good luck.

BowHuntingFool - you must be right in the heart of elk country then?

I hunted east of Gaylord a few years back. Took my video camera to the tree with me and shot video of a a massive bull with 19 cows/calves and a couple of spikes thrown in. I got the massive bull on tape at 15 yards. What a sight. What a great area.

I've got property in Harrison (middle of the state). During the last week of September we were up there cleaning out trails in the swamp and I saw several fresh rubs, no scrapes that early though.

I just came back today from a four day trip to Mancelona / Kalkaska area and I didn't see any deer activity at all with all rain , they even had snow up there on Saturday.
Besides all the bad wheather it still was a nice trip the colors where great.
