Missouri rut progress???
Hi all!
I was wondering if any Missouri hunters are seeing increased rutting activity? I saw a nice 8pt trail a doe across the highway yesterday at 12:30 p.m. He didn't even seem to notice I was about to cram the bumper of my truck in the side of his head as he crossed!
It's a wonder any of them make it at all!

RE: Missouri rut progress???
A little update:
I was bowhunting this evening on our farm. As I was coming out, I was slipping through a small thicket to get out to my truck. All of a sudden I saw a flag about 60 yards ahead of me, and the sound of two deer crashing throught the brush in opposite directions. It was a buck and a doe. The buck circled behind me and pranced back and forth in circles for about 7-8 minutes at about 60 yards. He WOULDN'T leave! I stood motionless waiting for him to hook back up with the doe. Finally he backtracked and met the doe where he went out the first time. He sure was worried about what I was, but he was not gonna leave that doe! I guess it's on in full swing and should be just right for the gun opener this weekend!
