Is there any good Missouri Hog Hunting?

Myself and a few buddies were thinking of going Hog hunting and I've heard that there are some good pigs in So. Missouri. Has anyone hunted them down there and do you know a good outfitter?

I've heard the same thing. Never been though, so I don't have any advice. I'm from the northern part of the state.

if you are looking to go with a ranch/guide then I know that high adventure ranch looks like a good one.

Are you wanting to hunt free range hogs,, or do you want to hunt at a game ranch.. I am about 5 miles from the High Adventure Game Ranch, the rankbull mentioned, My wifes cousin runs the place,, They do have lots of big hogs and a couple different species. If thats what you want, give them a call or look them up on the web, and if you want an extra challenge,, ask about the "Iron Man" it is supposed to be tough. Also if your wanting free ranging feral hogs,, there are starting to be lots of them in Southern MO around Lesterville and Centerville and Clearwater lake area, they are feral and the conservation dept wants them gone,, so you can hunt them anyway you want and dont need a tag except for during deer season, and no limit. But from what I hear they are pretty hard to hunt, and are pretty nocturnal, some of the guys are baiting them with some success. Good luck.

Angus has got it pretty well right about the free range hogs in Southeast Missouri. They're tough to hunt, and it's getting to where if you want to kill some you have to either drive them with a group, or dog them if you have access to some good dogs. bait doesn't work all that well because they're pretty much nocturnal.

You might check out Wappella Lake area. I understand there are quite a few hogs there.
You cancontact the Missouri DepartmentConservation at WWW.MDC.MO.gov. There is all kinds of info on their site. Good luck.
