Dayna0306 I'd like to hunt something like that too.I've got a jet jon boat, and tried that method back a couple years ago on the Illinois bow opener out in Oregon on the Rock river.I saw turkeys and some deer sign but no shot opportunities. My bud that went with said he saw deer but didn't get a shot either.Next time I do this I'll take my climber instead of the hang on stand,or I'll a day or twoahead of time hang a stand.

That sounds like part of Ray Norbut State WildlifeArea and the island is supposed to be the best hunting in park.

I have not hunted the area but I hear the rest of the area is hunted hard.

Good luck!

I hunted there last year and came close to a 140s one morning ,I was about to draw when he turned around and ran . Here comes a guy and he looks up at me and says did you see the size of that buck.I saw people evey where. So I was thinking maybe less pressure out on the island.Of course I am hoping to fill my tag at soliam springs or panther creek by nov.4. But I have to have a plan B.Hey LLBUX is there river accesse on the east side ,I think I saw a pumping station over there.
