With the new Attorney General in Illinois being Lisa Madigan (D) - we can expect our Firearm Owner Identification Card fees to potentially go up to $500.

BLAGOJEVICH. His name sounds like he might have a little communist blood in him. Do the hunters,fisherman,trappers,gunowners,etc. in Illinois have time to vote, well if you dont, I think you should find time the next time around if its not to late already. I live in MO. and we elected an NRA A rated senator this year and I dont think it would have been possible if not for the sportsmen and sportswomen of this state. If you DONT VOTE DONT COMPLAIN. I am not trying to offend anyone, just stating the facts.

not only a attorney general and gov. but also controling numbers in the state house and senate. we just have to wait and see but i've made plans if they start outlawing guns and seasons my guns will be resting down in tx with my family and the ones i'm not real attached to will be sold for a fair price on the south side of chicago

another thing that bugs me is when calf. was in the big legislative battles a couple of yrs. ago the nra was all over it but with a election like this one in ILL. i never heard a word from them what's up with that

No plans are in the works for $500 foid cards, nor has there ever been. Simple as that, according to a response from bloginbitches people that respond to his emails. Dont believe me, just write them yourself and ask then.

Not trying to sound too pessimistic, but weatherby, you forgot to add a yet into your reply. they dont have plans in the works, yet. I dont know what they plan on doing, hopefully nothing, but i wouldnt be suprised if they did do price hikes.

Weatherby - you are right. Rod will not raise taxes - he just wants to raise revenues. So instead of a tax bill from the state - I'll just be getting a &quot;State Revenue&quot; bill.

BTW - The Republicans should have kicked Ryans butt out of the Mansion over 2 years ago - but Ryan had the support of allot of folks from across the aisle - EVERY politician got his or her special projects done. Didn't matter which side of the isle you were on.

thats pushing it, i would feel morally obligated to refuse that legislation dont accept it. dont accept this kind of crap. maybe it will take a million hunter march, maybe if that doesnt work we need ot bear arms and chane some things.

I'm from Wisconsin and we just got a dem. in the govoners seat so I sympothize with you. But you have to remember us hunters not only support our own sport but we keep everything from resturants to department stores and also help out the state economy with the cwd we have up here in wisconsin people where real worried that it would really impact the economy and we have one more weapon in our arsonal we can vote and we must remind the Democrats and some republicans that there are alot of hunters out there and if you piss us off you won't be around next term and when nobody is killing the deer the only thing that is is cars!!!!

Not to get into an argument but there is something you should all know. First of all Blagojevich is not going to raise the FOID card to $500. Blagojevich did introduce a bill when he was a freshman legislator in the Illinois House of Representatives to increase the card from $5 to $500. He thought that this legislation would stop the gang bangers from getting access to guns. Yes, he was wrong to think that gang bangers were actually applying for FOID cards and yes, even he will agree that it was a stupid bill to introduce. Trust me when I say stop worrying about a $500 FOID card - it simply is not going to happen!

Blagojevich is also in the process of appointing new directors to all of the State agencies. A viable candidate for the Director of DNR is a current State Representative and a friend of mine. He is an avid hunter, fisherman and skeet shooter. He has introduced hundreds of pro gun, pro hunter bills. If Blagojevich was truly anti-gun/anti-hunter he would never consider this man for this job. In my opinion, if this Representative gets DNR he will be the best Director DNR has had for many, many years.

Thanks Buck, I don't really think anyone would raise foid cards that much, unless their name was tipper. Who knows, maybe he will actually be a good govenor, cant be much worse than G. Ryan
