I am looking to get into a MN Lease for hunting - anyone else?

I live in St. Michael and am interested in joining or forming a group to get a land lease together. My primary usage would be whitetail bow and gun - with maybe a little small game and possibly a turkey (or bear if theres any). Not really into water birds.

I am originally from WI and have no where to hunt in MN. Would like to find some land North or West of the northern MN suburbs.

I am 37 years old

Shoot me an email if you also have some interest.

Thanks.

Don

dhacker:

Good luck finding a place to hunt. I am a transplanted WI deerhunter as well. Since I moved to the wrong side of the river I have enjoyed some fine MN hunting, but you have to work at findinga place to go. I had lots of nos before I had a kind souled fellow hunter let me hunt on a 20 acre spot he knew of. He didn't hunt it anymore and put me in contact with the landowner. I was later able to access some neighboring land and have taken a couple of nice bucks off there. Keep your eyes and ears open and don't be affaid to ask. The worst you can have happen is a no and sometimes you may get a referral.

Just a side note. Look into the all season buck tag. It is a licence that lets you bow hunt, shotgun hunt, and muzzle-loader hunt. You can only take 1 buck so if you get one with your bow you are done hunting horns but you can still hunt does providing you have the correct antlerless tag.
Late season muzzle-loading was awsome this year! Hunting in the snow is a blast and you can see some real whoppers when it gets cold and they are on the feed bag. Good luck.
