RE: mountain lion killed

I think the article said it was killed in the northland just south of I-35 and I-29 intersection. Some lady ran over it at like 1:30 in the morning and called police. When they got there they found it in the ditch and had to finish the job. I think it was something like 130lbs and 7feet from nose to tail. Better keep your head up in the woods boys!

Do they have a season for animals they claim don't exist here?

The only time you can kill a "non-native" species, or a species where there is no set hunting season, is if, it is a immediate threat to a human life, and in some cases, doing harm to livestock or property.

Hey Richie!

What about feral hogs? As far as I know there is no season on them, and the Conservation department encourages people to kill as many as they can, because they're NOT a native species?

I love animals.......they're delicious!

This is true, but, if you shoot a cougar, elk, moose, black bear, ect. and they can prove they are not a threat to you or your property, your butt would be in trouble. Ferral(sp?) hogs do damage to the ground, and more over, are prolific breeders. Meaning their numbers need to be kept in check right off the bat. The other animals mentioned are not, and are a rare find in this state. Check your wildlife code or check with a Missouri department official. Remember, the state wildlife code ia a permissve code. Which means, if it doesn't say you can do it, then you can't do it.
