Indiana...Centerfire Rifle Use For Deer Hunting
A friend told me a week or so ago that a legislator in the state of Indiana, has written legislation that will allow deer hunting with certain center fire riflesin the state of Indiana. It will be introduced in February of 2006, and is expected to pass with flying colors. It will not allow "long range" centerfire rifles, but only those that fire straight wall cartridges, such as .45-70; 444; 375 Winchester; 45 LC; 44 Mag; etc. I can hardly wait!

kinda the same thing in Iowa this year. Except you can use whatever rifle, it's only in southern counties, and its for an antlerless season.

The bill that you're referring to would allow certain calibers of pistol rounds in rifles , the so called "cowboy guns" like the 30-30 .
I'm in favor of it , it won't be any riskier than sabotted shotgun rounds or smokeless muzzleloaders . Besides , any excuse to buy a new gun is ok with me . ;) |

They've been talking that trash for years, but it hasn't happened yet. I sure wouldn't rush out and buy a Marlin 94 yet, anyway. I lived in New Albany for years, and heard the same thing many times, but it hasn't happened yet, adn I doubt it will. Indiana is too stubborn to change.

I'll stick with my Knight Revolution .50cal for firearm season..that is until everyone leaves Indiana so I can use a 7mm.
