RE: Hunting Land

We have land in Carrol. 2 years agonice wooded property was 2k. A 60 acre parcel is on the market for 6k an acre.
If you want to lease you will pay big bucks. Outfitters are locking in all the ground. They get 2k to hunt a weekend shotgun.Bow is aleast a $100 a day.
Guys who have hunted for years arefinding theycan't afford what the land owner can get for a lease.

If I am offered a $100 an acreI might be willing to sell the hunting rights on my farm.

Wow, sounds like a steal. I have 220 acres in Iowa I would part with for $4k/acre. Cedar River bottom, has so many deer that I can get depredation permits. Going once, twice, ????

4k/acre [:'(] thats regoddamndiculous. I cant believe people would actually pay that much. Soon it will be only the rich can hunt. and the rest of us will remember the good ole days[&o]

I know of some good farms in Southern Illinois and Southern Indiana that are less than $20.00/acre and are loaded with deer. I think for anything more than that you should expect to have developed food plots and even a lodging facility. If you would like more info on some good farms, PM me.

I forgot sarcasm is hard to pull off on line:D I'm really not looking to sell and yes, there is hunting ground fetching some unbelievable prices around here. Can't touch anything for under $2,500/acre.

$20/acrewould be for an annual hunting lease.

Lots of places in my area where leases exceed $50/acre for deer hunting only. I tried to lease a piece in Pike for 4 weeks of bow hunting and was declined. I offered $35/acre.

I now have about 700 acres that could be leased next year for $20/acre. I'm looking for more too.

Good luck!

i lease 3 seperate farms in western indiana with a total of 650 acres for 20.00 an acre i think its a steal due to the sheer number of deer on these farms. i have kept this lease for the past 4 years and saw deer all but 2 times that i hunted them, matter of fact im taking my wife to one this weekend to try to set her up on a nice 8-point basket rack that ive been watching
