Calling in bucks in WI

This past week I tried calling in a buck and acutally had success! Do you think it is too early to start doing things such as grunting, bleating, using rattling antlers, hunting scrapes, etc?

It's not to early the rut usually picks up closer to Halloween, that is around where we bow hunt which is near black river falls. Where are you located and where are you hunting?

RE: Calling in bucks in WI

I start using calls by the first weekend of Oct as do a couple of buddies in MN. It doesn't always work, but it has brought in bucks and doe. Plus it gives me something to do every 45 minutes or so. Don't call/rattle aggressively or two often, but I figure it can't ever hurt, deer call all year round, so why not now?
