Moving to Ohio

Well it looks like I will be moving to southern Ohio area pretty soon. I currently live in North Texas. I have read the Ohio fish and wildlife websites so I know about seasons and limits. My question is? Whattype of land is available to hunt? I currently pay $1,600 a year for a 3 gun 400 acre lease. Whatcould I get in the Ohio or Kentucky areafor that price range or is it even necessary. Any help would be great, I have done several searches but cant seem to find any info.

RE: Moving to Ohio

There is a good deal of public land in southern Ohio, however the quality is hit or miss. The formerly Mead company (I think it is Westvaco, now) offers land for lease in southern Ohio. I am sorry, but I do not have a link to redirect to you their site.

What part of Southern Ohio are you going to be moving too. I might be able to help if you are more specific.
