A good place to hunt?

I'm a college student currently attending St. Mary's University in Winona, MN. I was just curious if anyone knew of any public land nearby that is decent for bowhunting. I have only hunted opening weekend so far, and would like to get out more.

I don't know if it allows deer hunting but the Whitewater Refuge just south of Winona is a big area.
