When to start rattling?

Here in Illinois I like to start rattling about the 3rd week of October. What are your opinions?

I'm very interested in this as well. Do you actually bring anything in during the 3rd week of October? I would have guessed about the last week.

RE: When to start rattling?

I bring my rattling antlers with me all year long. Keep in mind once bucks are hard antlered they're sparring. I don't really start blind rattling until around Halloween, but you neven know when you're going to see a buck either too far for a shot or heading the wrong way. A slight tickling of the antlers just might be the ticket to peak his curiosity and bring him in close enough for a shot.
