Anyone here hunt, or have hunting down near Vandalia, IL?? I may haave a chance to deer hunt down there in the next couple years, and I was wondering how the deer herd is down there. Thanks a bunch.

Keep going down 57 and you'll see my hunting area in Williamson and Pope counties. Deer herd is great down there. Many big bucks.

Seriously, don't ever ask a question like that again. (the walls have ears). Too many folks are cluing in on our wonderful deer in S. IL and migrating from Pike, Adams, etc....

Can't a guy have a little privacy? GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

well i think the secret has been out on pike for awhile now... One of my buddies goes to college down in Houston, and one of his friends down there is always asking him if he can come to illinois to hunt deer. he always asks him about how huge the deer are here, he said that the guy(from houston) makes it sound like the deer in Illinois, and especially pike, are some mythical creatures, like giants and unicorns or something. he gets a kick out of it.

I have seen alot of deer in the river bottoms by vandalia. Where by van are you hunting might be able to look around for you I go by van alot

Pssshhh. Southern Il. is way over rated. If I was you I would go to So. Cal. ....now they have some hawgs down there! ;) :D
