I can't say it bothers me too much. Just for the fact that their is one check in station in the county, and it take 45 min to drive their. I am just glad Blegojajoke didn't raise tag fees.

Deer pins update: Hunters with Internet access can still receive free deer pins from the Department of Natural Resources.
Since 1978, pins have been allocated at check stations to hunters who harvest a deer. But since the state eliminated check stations effective this fall, hunters who want a pin will now need to visit the DNR Web site: dnr.state.il.us.
"For people who don't have a computer, we're hoping they can get a son or grandson or someone who has a computer to get online for them," said Chris Hill, systems and licenses manager. "We just couldn't handle the number of phone calls we'd need to take to do it that way."

Where and if I am relocating too is the 6 million dollar question... Don't know yet. Have looked at a few places in Illinois and elsewhere just haven't figured out what we are going to do... I thought I would know in a week or two about 2 months ago but things are just crawling along... We shall see.. I'm hoping for one place in particular that would make a great cattle farm and at the same time be a terriffic hunting property. draws, oak trees, streams old orchards... Mostly pasture and hay... Just terrific...

Bureau county does have a lot of nice hunting, we are on the far western side of it... Turkey population is growing ever so slowly and the deer taken last year were great around here.. And the Sheds brought into the shop I frequent, oh my... Some bigguns...

Uncle Matt, you know what's up with that, another sweet over paid computer job the gov. can give to a family member or to someone that made a LARGE donation to Rod's campaign.

This is ridiculous, Our state has gone mad. I personaly loved going to the check stations, and I know that noone that I know disliked it. I can't beleive that they are gonna take it away, this is exactly what the poachers have been waiting to hear, I garentee it. Check stations are part of tradition, and I see no valid reason for their departure. I personally will miss the check stations. And anyone who can finda good reason that check stations are bad, you let me know what the reason is, because im drawling a blank.

Money. The state will save a bunch doing this. Think of all the paper and man hours entering the data. Also, if you look in the new reg book they are also doing away with paper aplications. They will probably charge the fee like they do online applications. That could amount to a tag increase without legislation (if fees are charged).

I was thinking the same thing i mean if you think about it the could shoot a buck and call it in as a doe and right the number on the tag and go out and shoot another buck. Around here they wouldnt get caught because we have only 2 dnr officers that come by and i havent seen or heard of them in two years.

Money, hunting is allll about money. This state is so damn selfish, they don't care what the people want, its whats best for them.
