Roger - What kind of information are you looking for?

RE: Ohio Muzzleloader hunt
Do you want to know the dates?.............where to hunt?.................your question was pretty basic.

RE: Ohio Muzzleloader hunt
Sorry, can't help you there. Unless you want to hunt a high fence operation, not sure why you would choose to go with an outfitter though. There is plenty of public land in Ohio and, unlike shotgun season (which is awful), you'll see very, very few hunters on public land during muzzleloader season.

RE: Ohio Muzzleloader hunt
I can't help either. Ohio does not, at least to my knowledge, have any guide services. Unless, like Hunohio said, you hunt a high fence operation.Sorry. If you want to know where some good areas are.....Southeast Ohio(Vinton, Meigs, Athens, Jackson Counties) is an excellent place to hunt. I live in SW Ohio and we have some pretty nice spots, but nothing like in the SE. Ohio has a good number of deer where ever you go. It just depends on how far you want to travel within the state.

RE: Ohio Muzzleloader hunt
Thanx for the replies guys, no high fence hunt for me strictly free range. Was thinking an outfitter due to the time restrants and distance I would have to travel to hunt public land. Love your DNR's management policy with no firearm hunt during the rut and have been seeing some great bucks coming out of your state. Had been hunting in Buffalo County Wi. but is getting way too commercialised.

RE: Ohio Muzzleloader hunt
Roger -Below is a link to a site I found last year when I was searching for land to lease (never found any worth pursuing though). I forgot all about this until reading your last response. I traded e-mails with the guy and he seems decent, but have never met him. Basically, you pay him x dollars to gain access to the farms he owns or leases. I might be wrong, but I don't think he actually guides hunters or even sets up stands for them. He claims to have good deer populations on his lands, but can't vouch for that since I haven't been there. Hope this helps.
