Opening day of deer season started out with a bang, down went a nice Doe, now time to try out the Free Range Hunter Drop Point Blade Model 2042 . As I pull it from the sheath it has a no slip grip with a thumb grove on the blade next to the handle for applying pressure, when cutting. It has a razor sharp blade and the gut hook is just as sharp. I had no problem with the Gut hook going throw the hide, with ease. When grasping the no slip handle with finger grove, it has a lite comfortable feel when skinning out this Doe. The razor sharp blade made short work when I quarter up the venison meat, it even stayed sharp cutting throw the hip and knee joints. I would have to say this is one of the sharpest Knives I have ever used, when I went to put it back in the canvas sheath (Heavy Grade Plastic Liner) it was still ready sharp for the next Deer Down.
