Default YAWN. Is it Spring yet?

I've come out of hibernation a bit early, but I can't wait to get on the water and see the arrow dance again.

Now all I have to do is:
-find a way to pay for new bow limbs (to replace the ones that delaminated and cracked last summer)

-fix my outboard (cuz it won't start no matter how much I beg or swear)

-buy a new generator (cuz it was the one who taugh my outboard how to run)

-and then dig the boat out from the 4 foot snow drift it's in.

Piece of cake. See you in 2012.

Probably cheaper to find another used bow...

Begging does not work. Swearing doesn't either. But I do it anyway just in case.

Probably cheaper than the bow limbs...

Gotcha covered. We'll be up and help dig it out. Look for us about the second week in April.
P.S. We moght be able to get there sooner. So if the boat is out of the snow sooner than that, you're welcome.

Nice.
The snow is melting rapidly, probably into someone's basement, so that won't be an issue, and I have seen gennys for $200, so that may be doable.

Still gotta look up the bow limb prices and hopefully find a marine repair guy who would trade for labor, or a bowfishing outing. :

The main thing in April is that I've found shoveling snow is much, much easier then.
As far as any "hitching" goes, I am hoping for many hitches.
Hitching the boat trailer,
hitching the tiller and mower to the tractor,
probably hitching up my pants...

Well, I just found out that my cousin recently moved close to me, and he has fixed a few outboards in his time. We'll be out there crankin it up soon. I have to pay him in beer.

That would be a good idea. I'm still hoping to buy one of my own, but maybe it is anough to ask just to get the outboard workin and the bow shootin.

It's gonna be a bad year.

Just found out that my Samick Spirit bow was discontinued, and there aren't any matching limbs for sale on Ebay. Tried the junk bows and kid's bows I've got, and they throw arrows sideways so badly that it would be a joke to use either of them to launch anything at a fish while paying a tourney entry fee.

One top of that, I have scheduling conflicts for the Deer Classic, Billy Davis, and the State Championship (some due to the inflexibility of my lovely Ex-Wife). If I can get the outboard working, I want to come down and have my boat available for the kid's bowfishing event, but the kids will have to get bows from others.
