Too early for aerial bowfishing on the Illinois?

...or is the high water slowing things down. 5 of us made the 2-hour drive south to our favorite spot near Hennepin this past weekend and the last thing on our minds was "no jumpers".

Is it too early, water too high or too cold, or have the "fishies" left all together. My vote is for high water.

Any ideas?

It is the high water we shot some silver earlier this year but the water was only up a little now it is way up. we went into some flooded timber had had the silvers junpming in there . i would say they are just spread thin with the water every where.. just my thoughts though.

The water is too high giving them more places to go.This was also a problem last year. When the river gets "normal" you will see the action back.
