New World Record Bighead

Read this on Bowfishing Country

Guy out of Missouri shot a bighead weighing 119.3lb.

he said he had it certified and everything. He has the fish in the freezer.

Just thought i'ld post it up here for everyone to see and mabe Darrin will take a peek

the guy has 3 threads on BFC so its easy to find

The thread with the picture seems to be missing now. I never did see the picture, darn it. If it is real, it is almost 20% bigger than any other bighead I am aware of, in the world, including China. There is apparently one in a museum in Pakistan that was caught by a commercial fisher, and that one is a tad over 100 pounds. Fauna sinica (China) record is a tad under 100 pounds.

Yeah when I went looking for the picture it was missing as well. Without pics it didnt happen. Im not a fan of that website either, lots of very rude individuals on that site.

I saw the pic on there. it's hard to tell anything from a picture.... but it looked a little like moby dick. the guy holding it was a big boy and that fish still looked huge. he said on the thread he didn't think it was a big deal and wished he never brought it home because people kept stopping by to look at it.

I think the fact that he pulled the thread and never came up with any measurements is telling. I saw the picture, and it was a big fish, but it didn't look nearly as big as Darin's 92.5 lb bighead. I also think it's lame to claim a new record and then complain when people are interested and ask for more pictures and a little bit of verification. This is why I recommend folks with new record fish to get them weighed on a certified scale with witnesses. That takes the controversy away.

Darin's a big boy too, and his fish looks huge. That "new record" didn't look anywhere near Darin's
