RE: Bowfishing Drum Reel

If you are committed to the drum reel, try canting your bow when you shoot. This will give you more clearance from the real. At least get safety slides; I got slides after I had a snap back (around the bolt on the drum reel) thatput a hole in mywaders.

I have 10" shoot-throughstyle drum reel on my longbow and it works just fine.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Sounds like the AMS Retriever is the way to go. I think I'll pick one of them up, since I'm already addicted to bowfishing, and it sounds like it will be a worthwhile investment. Have a great season everyone.

Retrievers are good.. but man I love my spinner!

I love reeling in the arrow unlike the AMS...

People say you looks more arrows or have more snapbacks becuz you forget to push the button..but after a while it becomes second nature

Do you think its worth it to get the retriever pro instead of the original retriever? Seems like a lot of places only sell the pro now, which is around 80.00 instead of 65.00. Oh well, I'll probobly end up getting it anyways. Just wondering what your thoughts were. Thanks.
