Releases
I dont forsee the need to use one in bowfishing, but are they beneficial in any way? I like sniping them under pads, figured if I can hold it at full draw longer with a release rather then my fingertips id invest in one since I do need one for the fall.
Thanks in advance. I get these ideas away from work for some reason.... |
RE: Releases
While your at it you may want to invest into a bunch of scent killer also....I doubt you will ever get all of the fish smell out.....That is as long as you don't shoot like some of the others in the club!!

RE: Releases
You bought a Barracuda right Ray? Those arerough on your fingertips. Short axle to axle and no let-off. I could see using a release with one of those. I do know a couple of folks who use a release for shootin' fish.
I have an oneida with 50% let-off. I put those rubber 'no-glov' thingies on the string so it doesn't hurt my fingers at all. (and DeerPredator can tell you that I am as delicate as a flower. heh... laff, laff) |

RE: Releases
I got the cuda and I use AMS No-Glovs... but I'm hoping to try the Saunders no-gloves shortly
|
RE: Releases
My dad likes to use a release. I think they take to long to get set up after a shot so I just use the no gloves. Personal preference I think though.
|
RE: Releases
Well, I prefer finger and no-gluvs myself, BUT the club's regular 'big fish' winner uses a compound with release and holographic red dot sight.
Modern technology must not be TOO bad. He even does his shooting while sitting down. |
RE: Releases
Snuffy could go out with a switch and tie a string to it and get big fish.....;)
|
RE: Releases
I just shoot bare handed. The original "no-gloves" ;)
But then again, I'm not shooting a Barracuda. Those are a finger pinchin' son of a gun. |
RE: Releases
Still using my regular tab with my oneida. But i shoot a long Strike eagle that has very little pinch. KBIPREZ AND MR. Extreme both use no gloves on their osprey oneidas and do very well.
