Racoon lake Ind
 

Took the miss's out on a boat ride scouting trip to racoon lake in indiana today. First i had to buy a $20.00 non-resident lake pass good until December 31 woopie. There is a free boat launch just past the state park, which charges $7.00 to launch. The lake has a lot of coves to get out of boaters and the wind. Water was clearer than any lake i have shot this year. But that is not saying much. Did see a lot of carp, nothing big. no gar or buffs. Although bet there are buffs there. Most coves have a shallow low bank on one side with high steep banks on the other side. Lots of no-wake zones and there are houses all theway around. I was also suprised how many boats there were out on the lake. I did get to pull out a Dodge 4x4 that got into a drainage ditch. He just could not get up and out. My little bronco yanked him right out. When i hooked up to him he was very skeptical to say the least. I did not even spin a wheel, just got on a hard angle that made the front of him follow me up and out. He was a pretty happy camper, boater.
Not to find time before deer season to wach a few.
