I think I might get out tomorrow morning and try walking the banks out in the conservation area. I will be out there around 8:30 - 9:00. I know it rain and has been cold but i'm gonna try it anyway.

North or south side of the river. i was looking at it onhttp://imageatlas.globexplorer.com/ImageAtlas/view.do and found it, but where do you shoot fish? This photo is of the bridge that crosses the des plaines AKA brandon road. just type in joliet, il and look for the river at the bottom of the picture which is brandon road you should be able to find it quite easily.

That's it.
Both sides.
Mainly North up to the pool with the duck blind, and then on the South side all the way into the mucky backwater that goes back in the trees.

Biggest from there was 17# carp,15# smallmouth buff, andthe biggest longnose went something like 30". Seen bigger.

Where do you park down there? I would really like to try it but i don't really like wading places i don't know by myself. So i am just going to wait until i can get out there with someone who knows the area.

There are always pole fishermen on the bridge, many of which will gladly take your buffs. Park where they do, at the ends of the bridge on the shoulder.
It's a little tight on the North side, so pull in your mirror if you can. Stay away from the gated entrances to the lock buildings.

If you end up deciding to go it alone, we can talk on the phone about how too keep out of trouble wading that area alone.
