Slow weekend at Horseshoe
#1
Well this was the opening weekend for Horseshoe lake bowfishing. I have been out several times scouting and each time was before the season opener. Every time scouting I could have filled the boat with fish. This weekend was crap. Thursday-Saturday it was either very high wind gusts or raining. Both bad conditions for the lake as it is very shallow. Well with nice weather Sunday I had to go out. It was prolly the cloudiest I have ever seen that lake. But I managed to pull out a few fish and turtles. Hopefully I will be able to make a few trips durring the week and do better.

Just wanted to clear things up. I did not shoot the turtles. Horseshoe is filled with snappers and they are pretty easy to troll up to and if you get them on the move you can nab em pretty easy.

Yes always wear the lucky hat. It helped me lots last year. This year the hat is slacking. Actually after watching this video I had to try it. Put the push pole feet on top of the turtle shell and grab the tail. Pretty spooky but it works.
