RE: We got us ANOTHER boat
ORIGINAL: Mark S How much do you think the platform weighed? And howhigh is it off the gunnels? What's the bump out in front for? That things pretty enough to bring in the house. It's about 17" off the gunnels, and the bump-out is for the front navigational light. I think it weighed about 50-pounds. It's plenty strong enough for 2 guys. I stood on it and it didn't even creak. It's 5' wide and 4' deep from the front to the back. It may be pretty now, but that ain't gonna last. I'm not gonna take a barrel the first time I take it out. I'm jusy gonna fill it up! The most important thing is it's strong, light and it didn't cost me anything but some time. All the wood was scrap left over from jobs I've already been paid on. I'm not gonna put any rails on it yet. I want to see how it goes without, then I'll see if I want them or not. |

Then most important thing is to be sure you have an outboard that will run BEFORE you decide to let it drift off of the trailer at Clinton Lake.....:D Great work Steve. Looks really nice. That boat has as come a long way. It should serve you well. Does Dina know you're gonna want a bigger woody next year? |
