Help with Bigheads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in need of some help, advice, knowledge because I dont have it..Ok I started hunting these bigheads hard about 3 weeks ago, there was tons of them, we averaged 40-60 fish a night, then a week ago it got slim, down to 16 a night, then Monday night, ONE!!
Then last night, NONE:(....
I have been told they migrate, I have been told we killed em all, NOT!!!
I have been told that they are holding back water and the fish only feed in current..
I DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone HELP me....It was to much fun to be gone already...

I don't know what the big river looks like right now? Could be a change in flow from all the water they are getting out West/ Up North?

Our small ponds are drying up, but there is flooding all over the MO and OH river basins.

LOL easy there big fella.
#1. They're not gone. You just haven't found what part of the river they moved to. My theory is that the plankton they feed on is deeper when we can't find them it's just because they are feeding deeper.

The only advice I can give is to try another part of the river. I wish I had a more certain answer for you.

they will move to cleaner water when available - muddy water clogs their gill-rakers. With all the recent rain up through Iowa, my guess is the water got too muddy for a while. Just check the prediction graph for Altonfrom this website.

It was a bust, water was muddy and current was super strong, water was high because of all the rain up north..we might try it again in a few weeks..
