Opening day of frog season

Any of you guys going frog gigging with your bows ?

Today is the opener. So if you see one on a muddy bank just drive him into the mud.

I've always wanted to do that! I'll have to find a place that has enough to make a meal out of.

Never tried it, but if it involves a bow, I'm game.
What kind do you like to hunt Lynn?

RE: Opening day of frog season

About 12 years ago Kevin Chapman & I were bowfishing a large pond in late May. We were doing OK on the carp shooting, but we were seeing a lot of nice bullfrogs just setting there on the bank looking at us. As long as we were pretty quite, in our small row boat, they would just let us get with in 12-15'.
The sad thing they were a few weeks out of season yet.
Finally the season was in & we went back there onour first day off. We nailed a bunch of frogs that day. Getting our limit, which is 8/person/day.
We were just using regular arrows, field points& driving them into the muddy bank.
I had frog gigged for years with my Dad & friendsbut this was the first time we did it with a bow & the first time during the day too.
We lost permission to hunt the pond so our honey hole for frog is gone, but NOT forgotten.
