:DHere are the updates as of 6/10/07
New state record and IB7C entry grass carp, Mark 'snuffy' McCleester at 47#2 oz. New state record and IB7C entry Long nose Gar, Luke Whitkanack at 25# 10 oz. New state record and IB7C entry- Common carp, Joe'slim' Ewing at 22#. IB7C entry Big Head carp, Alex Gable at 28# 13 oz. IB7C entry Buffalo, John 'Johnny b' Borgers at 17# 8oz. So we now have entry's in all five catagories. |

No, The last fish posted was Luke's gar. All the catagories are going to be hard to beat except for one. I think my Buffalo is pretty vunerable .

shouldn't there be seperate catagories for shortnose and spotted gar since the are much smaller than longnose?

May be so, but you have to ask the powers that be. I just collect the data.

Dave set this up, but I think his reasoningwas that not everybody can tell a shortnose from a spotted and that if we had too many categories it would cost too much to enter. :)
Maybe next year we can have a spotted or shortnose category that is seperate from the longnose gar? The bigheads and silvers are together because there are so many hybrids in the waters now that not even the carp biologists can tell them apart by looking at them. |
