RE: what is everyone doing?
I'm considering re-vamping my lighting system to include a few HPS lights. That's about it.

ORIGINAL: buffhntr What are you guys and gals doing? Is anyone remodeling their boat or bow if so what are you doing? I myself am ready to shoot some fish here in about a month. We were over in Bartonville checking out bigger outboard motors. (among other things;)):)Too bad I'm poor.:( Hopefully, we'll get the boat over to get the 2' extension put on soon. We've also been workin' on a few loose ends for the shoot schedule this year, the next newsletter, updating the flyers, the Deer and Turkey classic...other than that, I'm just goofin' off. |

I am just practicing with the longbow whenever I get the chance andenjoying some very good venison. I made venison rumakion New Year'sEve and it wasa hit.I've noticed that everything tastes better when it is wrapped in bacon.

I've noticed that everything tastes better when it is wrapped in bacon. My venison is going quick. It's about 2/3rds eaten and I'm donating some more ground stuff to the landowner where I hunt deer gun. I took them out to dinner last time, but they are out of town this weekend so I had to do something else. With my luck, they'll like it so much that they'll take up hunting and make me go home. :D I'm still chasing deer until tommorow. Then I'm relegated to projects around the house. I'll eventually get to building a lighter platform for the Green Bobber, but probably not for a month or two. |
RE: what is everyone doing?
Well, the next project on my list is setting up my little boat for bowfishing. I have a 10 or 11 foot Coleman Crawdad and so far I've got a 30-pound thrust troller for it, a 6-horse Mercury, a small (1800 watt) generator and a bunch of tractor lights if I want a battery-powered light set-up on it. I also just got a trailer for it, although I don't really 'have' it yet. Still have to pick it up.
I want to put out-riggers/ pontoons on it to make it a little more stable for 2 people to fish from. This is the only boat Team Carp-enders has for competing right now. It looks like we may be limited to how many fish we can shoot from it, because of the weight-rating. But I was thinking if I used a 3-man raft I have, we can tow it behing the boat and when we fill up one of our fish-barrels, we can pull in the raft, load the fish onto it and let it drag along behind us. I think the raft will hold 250 pounds. Might take us a while to get back to the launch, but it would be neat to pull up with a load of fish like that. If there's a will, there's a way! |

The Jury is still out on whether or not I want to be seen with you thisnext year.

RE: what is everyone doing?
The Jury is still out on whether or not I want to be seen with you thisnext year. Steve and I are informally competing to see which one of us can build the most redneck looking smallBF rig. Although the Green Bobber is smaller than his Crawdad, and I do look pretty funny on it, I think Steve is going to win this one. Hey don't you guys still have the tri-hull you brought to Evergreen last June? That could work just fine until Steve gets the crawdad's detailsworked out, or if you'reshooting on bigger water and want something a bit more stable. |
