Need Northern IL places to bowfish.
As most of us know, Northern IL is still relatively unexploredwith regard tobowfishing. Most of the really big fish are down South and up here we have lots of politics and archery limiting ordinances to deal with.
If any of you have any spots you care to share, I'd really appreciate it. I spent most of this morning talking bowfishing with a group of bowhunters, and many are interested in going out, but shore bowfishing places are scarce, and many people do not have boats. I'll be doing more local presentations in the next weeks, and could use a new spot or two. |

I've had the same concerns, the only other places I can think of would be the Mississippi River and the Chain o' Lakes (Grass Lake specifically). I think there a sections on the I&M canal you can bowfish.
It would be great if the lakes in the Forest Preserves were open to bowfishing. Perhaps we should politic for that option. |
