Nice fish, What do they weigh? you going for the record book again? Gotta like fish like that..congradulations...johnny b.

HNI_Christine 06-16-2006 05:34 PM

RE: Another Big Fish

He said they weighed 22.5# and 23.5#

I'm not sure if he's turningit in or not. There are much bigger fish in there. I took a 37.5# fish out 3 years ago, but I thought you had to be a BAA member before you turned one in. Oh well.

Sweet fish;), where did you shoot those fish at?
and congradulatoins

RE: Another Big Fish

Yes as far as I know you have to be a BAA Member to get anything certified. But don't get too anchious to hear back from them. I sent in my $ and application over 5 weeks ago and have not heard a word. I have talked to the famous 'Mr Ed' and he keeps assuring me that everything is in the works, once they found my application. Typicalyou send the stuff to Michigan, but the guy who takes care of it lives in Alabama or something like that.

RE: Another Big Fish

Are you all talking about entering a fish for BAA records? If so, leave Ed out of the equation. No you do not have to be a member at the time, but do have to join to enter one. The records chairman is Brady Miller and can be contacted at [email protected]. I promise you he will take care of matters quickly.

RE: Another Big Fish

Diana, it's hard to tell. There sure have been a bunch of big fish taken so far this year. I think there is much more awareness of the record program now.
Then again will eveyone who shoots a big fish enter it? We've shot at least3 record fish this year that we haven't bothered to weigh and measure. We know there's more out there like the two posted here. I don't know if he's gonna turn one of them in or not. I doubt it. He's looking for a bigger one he knows is in that lake. If he gets it. ;)

RE: Another Big Fish

Got the certificates today from BAA. Also got a third one for the big head, It says ' Points Bearing Size' what is that all about? Got to get them hung up before KBI-Prez does me one better. You know he is gunning for me, nothing like a good buddy..

HNI_Christine 06-21-2006 03:18 PM

RE: Another Big Fish

Johnny, your bighead is big enough (25lbs or bigger) to get points. (also called 'citation' fish)

The BAA has a competition for 'Bowfisherman of the Year'. Points are acumulated by going to BAA sanctioned shoots (more points if you place higher and get the big fish) and by turning in citation fish.

I'm hoping to get a couple of women to turn in points (for shoots and fish) so there can be a 'bowfisherwoman of the year' award. Hear that Diana, Debra, LovestoBowfish and Joanne? ;)

Here are the minimum weights for Citation fish (points fish)
