Free range fair chase hunt along the beautiful Devils River in west Texas. Limited hunts available, high Aoudad population. A few last minute hunts opened up for this spring and early summer with a handful of September/October rut hunts available.

I would assume the rut hunt they would be more active and visible? Have heard that they really stink. Is the meat edible? Is it better in the spring verses the fall? Have always want to hunt free range Aoudad.

The rut they are more active although it is still quite warm in these parts so if your not used to the heat I encourage booking a winter or early Spring hunt. We have the same success on either time frames and hunt accordingly to the time of year.

The meat is usually quite tough with rams being in the 8 to 12 year old range. They do stink while in the rut but most animals do...
