Default Discounted Hunts for Elk, Bears, Antelope, Deer, Merriams

Discounted and Bargain Hunts

Colorado Elk with Bear Option - Hunt #77-E – Reduced price of only $3800 for a 2x1 guided, private land hunt!!! I will be in camp for 2nd rifle season (Oct. 18-22, 2014) and would enjoy having you join me. The outfitter has almost 7000 acres of private land and hunting can be done out of elevated stands or by spot and stalk. Success rates are typically over 75%. Great lodge too. Bull tags are available over the counter.

An added bonus is being able to harvest a black bear on a kill fee basis. This place has lots of bears, most of which are brown or cinnamon in color. I did a recon visit there last week and the oak trees are full of acorns which assures the bears will be there in October. Hunters wanting to add the bear option to their elk hunt will need to buy a bear license for $351 and then upon killing a bear, pay a $500 kill fee.

Wyoming Rifle Antelope – Hunt #06-PA – Only $1200. I just had a bowhunter finish up on this hunt and he killed a doe and a buck and he said he saw lots of antelope which is the norm for this place. The archers are having a harder time than normal due to all the water this year which means even more antelope for the rifle hunters.

Here’s the deal. It’s a 3 day hunt or until you tag out. When you tag out, the hunt is over. Provided: private land hunting, 2x1 guided, in field transportation. Not provided: meals and lodging. Leftover licenses are available in this unit. The season runs Oct. 1 -31 and I will work on scheduling with you. Also please look at the antelope / elk option below.

Colorado Elk – Hunt #76-E – Remote tent camp hunt reached by horses in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area of Colorado. High success rates and some of most scenic country in the US. The head guide from one of my existing outfitters bought out another outfitter that has outfitted this area for many years. He and his guides have been scouting the area and are seeing good numbers of elk. The prior owner will assist with the hunts this fall.

This hunt can be done as a drop camp, semi-guided or fully guided. Openings exist for all seasons. Archery and 2nd and 3rd rifle tags are over the counter. I can price these hunts as below:

Drop Camps - $1800 per hunter from 1-6 hunters - up to $450 off.
Semi-Guided - $2800 per hunter – $150 savings. Need 4 to book.
Guided (2x1) - $3500 per hunter - $700 savings.

Wyoming Antelope and Colorado Elk Combo – Do Wyoming Antelope Hunt #06-PA and Colorado Elk Hunt #76-E both listed above. It is an 8 hour drive from one to the other. You can do the elk hunt as an unguided drop camp for archery or 2nd rifle season for $1800. Excellent odds of taking 2 western big game animals for $3000. Could also do the elk hunt as a 2x1 guided hunt for $3500.

Illinois Archery Whitetails – Hunt #36-WD - This one offers a legitimate chance at a 140+ whitetail for a bargain price. They are seeing a good number of bucks over 130 and one in the 165-170 range. There are 4 openings for the prime rut week of November 7-12, 2014. A maximum of 4 hunters are taken per hunt and only 8 hunters a year. Leftover licenses are available.

6 Day Hunt - $2350 for 1 or 2 hunters, $2300 for 3 hunters and $2200 for 4 hunters.

Colorado Merriams Turkey – Hunt #78-T - Only $500. Hunt 8000 private acres close to where I live in Canon City, CO. I saw at least 6 different flocks two weeks ago when I did my recon visit. An added bonus is the trout fishing on the Arkansas River which is a designated Gold Medal River in Colorado.

Meals and lodging are not provided but hunters may camp on the ranch grounds or stay in town at a motel which is 10 minutes away. This is a 3 day / one bird hunt. Why put up with the frustrations and low success rates of a public land hunt when you can have a private ranch to yourself? Licenses are over the counter. Spring gobbler season runs mid-April – late May.

NW Pennsylvania Lease/Lodge Membership or Non-Member Hunts – Hunt #24 - This is a great place to hunt or use throughout the year. They also have fair rates for non-members that just want a deer or turkey hunt. All the details and pricing is spelled out on the website so please click on the link for this information. I have hunted and stayed there and it is a special place.

Please remember that my service is entirely free to you, I get a commission from the outfitters and not you. You pay the same price booking through me as the outfitter directly.

For timely response and to help keep things organized on my end, I ask that you please respond via email or phone versus PM's or posts.

Good hunting,

Larry Holjencin

On the antelope hunt (Hunt #06-PA) - we can also do it for $1600 which includes staying at the lodge and meals. This is a $400 discount off the normal price. Leftover licenses are still available and cost $285 for the license and conservation stamp.

There are still two openings for Hunt #77-E in Colorado for 2nd rifle season - October 18-22, 2014. Only $3800 for a 2x1 guided, private land hunt with a great lodge too!
