We're offering a blackpowder adventure deep in the woods of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Step back in time two centuries to the era of the frontiersman. Join our blackpowder expert (a master gun builder and blacksmith) on an experience you'll never forget. In a remote, rustic encampment deep in the woods, he'll instruct you on the history and proper handling of a blackpowder muzzleloading rifle, and many other aspects of frontier life. Some items covered will include proper equipment and safety, tuning of your firearm, proper care of the firearm while hunting, and the cleaning of your firearm. You'll also learn many tricks used by experienced muzzleloaders. This trip will include shooting the blackpowder rifles and hunting (if you come during a Pennsylvania hunting season, with a Pennsylvania hunting license).
Bring your own muzzleloader to have it tuned, patterned, and sighted in, or use one of ours.
When combined with a primitive hunt you will learn the philosophy of hunting, types of firearms, gear and clothing, safety, and the skill of hunting for the species in season.
The location for Backwoods Blackpowder is our remote Elk Camp, deep in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds, where deer, bears, turkeys, and elk roam in abundance. We have comfortable outfitter-style canvas wall tents already set up and stocked with cots, so just bring your sleeping bag and appropriate clothing.
Price: Pricing depends on the length of your stay and the number of people in your group. For example, a group of four staying for two days and one night at camp plus one night at a peaceful country motel would be $345 per person, meals at camp, guides, and activities included.
