[/align] Our Missouri Whitetail Deer hunts are a 2x1, five day hunts in beautiful Northwest Missouri. All whitetail hunts include lodging and meals. In Missouri we have two lodges, one is a Victorian antique style bed and breakfast and a refurnished farm house we own. (A place where a hunters wife would enjoy coming too).

[/align] There are several bathrooms available in each house.
[/align] All the food is freshly cooked and homemade. We have a staff of three cooks from the local area to prepare all the meals for us. We serve hot and cold breakfast along with coffee. We have lunch supplies available for clients to pack including lunch meat for sandwiches and easily packed snacks. After the evening hunt we serve a hot, fresh dinner for all with a variety of deserts.

Season Dates and Rates
[/align] Our Missouri Season dates for 2007: Archery started on September 15th through November the 9th. Rifle started on November the 10th and ran through the 21st. Muzzle loader started on November the 23rd goes through December the 2nd. Archery opened back up on November the 22nd and runs through January the 15th. All these dates are from 2007 and are subject to change for 2008.
[/align] The tags are over the counter and cost $150 for an archery tag which gets you a buck and a doe tag as well as two any sex turkey tags. The gun tags are $175 and gets you one buck. Doe tags are $7.
[/align] The deer hunt fee is $3450 which is a five day six night hunt for a 2x1. For 1x1, it is $4450. Yes you can buy extra days for $500 a day both archery and gun hunts. Yes we do allow non hunters to join for $250 per day. For kid's hunts, I will
[/align]take $1000 off of the hunt for children under 15 years of age with a paying adult. If the child is under 15 years, he/she
[/align]must sit with a parent.
[/align] The arrival and departure days are not included in the hunt. They need to arrive by noon on the day before the hunt and leave the morning after the last night hunt.

If a group were to book a whole camp out they receive $200 off per guy with a group of 8 or larger.

We take 8 to 12 hunters for Missouri hunts. We try to keep a number of clients that will maximize success rate and enable us to give our clients the attention they need.

Typical Day Hunting Missouri
[/align]
[/align] We usually wake our clients up around 4 am for a breakfast at 4:30 am. After that we have our guides help the clients prepare for the day by making a lunch, gathering gear, and taking them to the spot that was planned out the night before.

[/align]A typical day's hunt starts a half hr to 45 minutes before shooting light. The night before, we plan out how long the hunter is going to sit.

Some of our clients choose to sit from sun up to sun down where other hunters but we hunt as long as the hunter wishes and cater to each client needs while encouraging clients to sit a while. Putting more time in the stand is an important part of being successful.

Our Missouri house doubles as a check in station for the hunters to gather/socialize, rest (if needed), and eat some lunch. This house is centrally located to all our Missouri farms and has a place to shoot bows as well as sight in guns. During the midday hours, our guides will come up with another spot if a move is needed for their client. After the evening hunt, we all meet back at the lodge for a dinner soon to follow. After dinner we usually take time for fellowship as well as prepare and plan the next days hunt.

[/align]The Guides
[/align]
[/align] Our Whitetail guides have been hunting this area for 8 to 14 years. All our guides spend a lot of time in the summer putting in food plots, putting up stands, and patterning deer. We also use trails cams to find out our deer population.
[/align]Some of the younger guides have been through guide school. One of the most important things about guiding is being able to work with people and being able to handle all situations as well as being able to communicate well with the clients. We always have a good time at camp with our clients while still keeping it very professional.
[/align] Our guides put in the time in the field so our clients can finish the hunt. A key part to out success is our guides are actively involved in the hunt. While they might not be sitting in the stand with the client, they are out scouting new spots for future hunts.
[/align] We suggest to all our clients that the key to success is to stay put in the stand as long as possible. Putting time in the stand will give the client a better chance for success. We also stress to our clients to listen to our guides. Our guides put in numerous hours preparing stand locations and food plots in the summer months. They are knowledgeable of the farms we assign them and listening to someone who knows the farm is the best chance for success as well as putting time in the stand.

About Missouri Deer
[/align] Our peek rut is usually around November 8th -16th. Post rut is usually the last week of November just into December. These dates are rough estimates on past ruts but rut all depends on moon phases and weather.
[/align] In order to promote bigger and better whitetail buck growth, we only allow hunters to take whitetails over 130 B&C. Here in Missouri, clients over the years have harvested many whitetail deer over the magic 175 B&C score. Last year our biggest whitetail buck harvested with a bow, was 168 B&C.

[/align] During the 2007 rifle season, we harvested 4 bucks that grossed over 170.

[/align][align=left][/align]The Land
[/align]Our Missouri Whitetail Deer hunts are out of box blinds, ground blinds, two and one man ladder stands, portables and tri pods. All whitetails are hunted over food plots, big timber, wooded draws, C.R.P. or cut grain fields.
[/align](2007), was the 5th year we had the state law that a whitetail buck had to have at least 4 or more points on one side to be harvested. This new regulation has helped to grow younger bucks into more mature and large whitetail bucks.
[/align]We hunt a little over 14,000 acres, with about 6000 acres that hasn't been hunted in over 10 years. This year we had many deer spotted that were well over the 180- 200 range and they're still out there!
[/align]During the 2007 Season, we killed many good whitetail bucks over 160 with a bow with the best being a 168 B&C Whitetail buck. During the rifle season, we killed 4 deer that were over 170 B&C with the biggest was 179 inch Booner.
[/align] This last season we had a lot of father son whitetail hunts which were a lot of fun. During the early fall of 2008, we have 32 new box blinds that we will be putting up in strategic places. Each new blind will be heated so a hunter or hunters can set out all day if they want.

All in all 2007 was a very good year despite the deer we lost (due to bad shots) & the misses hunters had. We have already started taking reservations for 2008 & 2009. Seems hunters are really starting to plan ahead. This is good for us, bad for the guys who wait till the last minute to try and book a hunt.
