BIG GAME SAFARIS [hr]Tanzania has some of the finest hunting grounds on the African Continent, where large concentrations of game can still be found. We have two hunting areas known as concessions: Selous Game Reserve This concession is situated in the southern part of Tanzania and named after Frederick Courtney Selous, a famous hunter and naturalist who was killed and buried there in the First World War. It is uninhabited and divided into some 46 hunting blocks, varying in size from 300 to 500 square miles. The size of each block is has been determined from its topographical situation and game concentrations. The vegetation is mainly “miombo†bush with dense thickets in some areas. Some of the largest rivers in Tanzania flow through the Selous. Masailand This region starts in the centre of Tanzania and extends north into the Serengetti Plains and on into Kenya. It is mainly acacia with thorn thickets and great open plains. Many of the country's speciality animals are found in the north, animals like the Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk, Fringe-eared Oryx and gazelles. This area is especially noted for outstanding Lion and Leopard hunting. Daily Rates Include: [ul][*]Services of a fully licensed experienced Professional Hunter (s) specified in the quotation and safari crew including cook, mess steward, trackers, gun bearers, skinners and general assistants. [*]Transport - one hunting vehicle per Professional Hunter and load carrying vehicles for transporting equipment and crew to and from the hunting areas. [*]Full tentage including insect and snake-proof sleeping tents, toilet and shower tents, mess tent, cook and staff tents. [*]Full camp equipment including spring beds with rubber foam mattresses, kerosene lighting, mess and kitchen equipment, utensils, refrigerator and freezer. [*]Fresh and canned food of the best quality available, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Special requirements catered for as far as possible. [*]Medicine chest including snake-bite serum and malaria tablets. [*]Skinning and preservation of trophies in the field. [*]A company representative to assist you upon arrival and departure. [*]The use of a high frequency two-way radio. [/ul]Daily Rates do not Include: [ul][*]Government trophy fees not included in the packages. [*]The cost of alcoholic drinks, beer and tobacco. [*]Air charter to and from the hunting areas and commercial air travel to and from Tanzania. [*]Hotel accommodation before and after your safari. [*]The cost of transporting equipment and personnel to places beyond our concessions for specific purposes as requested. [*]Gratuities to staff and Professional hunters. [*]Air freight of trophies from Tanzania to their final destination. [*]Tourist temporary firearms import duty and license @ $ 150-00 per gun. [*]Telexes, faxes or phone calls made on behalf of the client. [/ul]Terms and Conditions Reservations will be confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of 45% of the total daily rate. Likewise, dates offered for any safari are not held without receipt of a deposit. The balance of the safari cost is payable 60 days prior to commencement of the safari. Cancellation Policy Deposits are refundable only if cancellation is received in writing at least nine months prior to the scheduled starting date, less any costs the company may have incurred. Firearms The use of automatic weapons is strictly prohibited. There is also a caliber restriction for use on Elephant, Lion, and Buffalo, of no less than .375 Magnum and a bore limitation of no less than .240 for general game hunting. Handguns are not allowed. You are advised to bring all firearms and ammunition as accompanied baggage. All items sent ahead of time as unaccompanied baggage are subject to import duty. We also advise you to let us have the details of your firearms well ahead of time so that we can obtain temporary firearms permits on your behalf. The details of these firearms especially the serial number should be absolutely accurate to avoid delays in clearing your firearms upon arrival. Visas Nationals of certain countries will need to obtain a visa for entry into Tanzania. Please consult with us so that we can assist you where necessary to obtain any visas required in good time. Clothing Please note that camouflage clothing of any form or colour is strictly banned by the government.
