Our Typical Bear Hunting Day!
Trophy black bear hunts are probably one of the most exciting hunts a person can experience in their lives. A typical bear hunt is generally pretty comfortable too. Breakfast is usually from 8 - 10am. Afterwards is a good opportunity to double check equipment or take that last shot to put your mind at ease. Some fishing may also be part of the plan for the day. By the time 2pm rolls around it's time for a late lunch and, as usual, Murray and Lorraine will have a great meal prepared. After lunch it's off to the stand. These stands are accessible by either boat, 4 wheeler or by pickup (so age or fitness level is not an issue). Most of these stands are platforms with a comfortable chair. Sitting there for any length of time isn't difficult. In fact, because the active baits are so entertaining, the time flies by.
[/align]Once it's dark, your guide will be there to pick you up and head back to camp. If you've been successful with the hunt then it's up to your guide's discretion whether or not the bear is retrieved that evening or the following morning. Once arrived at camp there will be more food waiting for you and a nice hot shower. Then wait until morning and do it again.

Chuck Tholl
