RE: Alaska hunts
This outfitter does fill up a year in advance for his sheep/grizzly hunts. But he does offer last minute discounts hunts. Here is his price list and what to expect
Prices for 2008 are $11,500 sheep or grizzly and $16,500 sheep and grizzly. As with all of my hunts success rates are extreme high. (asnearto 100% as humanly possible). Clients fly scheduled air to Kaktovik and charter into camp. Charter fees are app. $1,000. My mt. goat/bear area is located in prince William Sound on a Chugach National Forest guiding concession. This area is awesomely beautiful with many tidewater glaciers and long coastal fiords. He does the majority ofhis bears hunts from early May thru early June with 1 fall hunt taking place early Sept. In the springhe cruise the beaches in a skiff while glassing grass flats for large male bears. The physical level of this hunt is extremely low. The fall hunt is conducted on salmon streams and requires a little walking. Success is near 100%. Black bear prices are $3,200 2x1 or $4,000 1x1. Brown bear are available 1x1 onhis first spring hunt with a $6,000 trophy fee. Clients fly scheduled air to Valdez and are met byhim at the Best Western Valdez. Hunts are 7 days dock to dock and there are no charter fees. Should they wish to partake in world class sport fishing before or after their hunt there are 30 charter boats located just out the front door of the Best Western and there is a fish charter booking agent located in the lobby. By mid Sept.he startshis goat hunts. Hisarea has a large goat population and tags are sold over the counter by him. (He isa license vendor and sell tags for everythingthat hehunts). As withthe bears there is no shortage of goats. We won't spend days trying to find goats or climb big mountains in the hopes that goats are present. We see goats every day and the only timeyou climb a mountain is whenyour going after a particular goat. They kill only large male goats. Success rates is near 100%. Prices are $7,500 1x1 or $6,000 2x1. Clients fly scheduled air to Valdez and are met bythe outfitterat the Best Western Valdez. Hunts are 7 days dock to dock and there are no charter fees.
