We are just the middle man on these leases, we certainly do not set the prices. Trust me, I understand that the price is high on this lease, butpeople are paying $50-$100 per acre for property in this area so that is what landowners expect to get. I would have never thought I would see people pay $4,000-$5,000 for a 5 day deer hunt, but they do it every year up here. Please stick with us, we will certainly be gettingleases in other areas that will be less price per acre. We are a new business & we will be specializing in leases throughout the Midwest, so we hope in time to have a variety of leases to fit everyone. www.midwestleases.com

Well Georgiaguy... $2,000 bucks a hunter ain't that bad considering it's for the entire deer and turkey season. I have definatly seen folks pay that much for a six day bow hunt. Even higher for the 3 dayswhen shotgun season comes in! Then take into account the area it's in... You don't get much better hunting than that.

The Owners have to get paid and the middlemen ain't working for free, therefore someone is getting gouged.

RE: Yearly Lease on 80 Acres Calhoun County, Illinois
There is no need to get to upset about it.....the property has leased out for this year. I certainly understand you thinking that the lease was overpriced but ask yourself this.......How are outfitters paying those kind of prices to lease land in this area? But like I said before we will certainly work hard to try to find leases to fit everyones budget. www.midwestleases.com

Noone's upset. If you can make that kind of money on it-----that's great. I'm just shocked, more than anything else, that hunting rights are so high anywhere. I pay $350 for 3500 acres, and though the quality of deer is no doubt better in that area, it's just hard for me to understand.
My comment was not meant to be critical. |
