So Rick Sears is still operating? My Dentist buddy got scammed by that crook way back in the 80s or early 90s!!! I guess when you have millions of people out there and many don't look at references before they book with someone a guy can get away with cheating people for decades! It's a wonder somebody hasn't shot this dude by now though!!!

Apparently, Stephen Flowers and Rich are still operating together running Trophy Elk Adventures in CO & NM. I also got caught up in their deceit. Stay away from these guys. Their guides do not know or adhere to the state regulations with regard to tagging and hides and they will throw the hunter under the bus with the game warden the first chance they get. My hunt was a once in a lifetime, bucket list, first time booking with an outfitter instance and all was lost in the 1st 5 hours of the hunt when the guide was pulled over for speeding -- and no proof of insurance. Although a refund was promised, it has yet to be seen, and no return calls or texts.

Elkelkelk.com scam

I am embarrassed it happened to me. Trophy Elk Adventures claims to hunt elk in Colorado and New Mexico. They wanted a 50% deposit to schedule my New Mexico cow hunt. I thought I had met these guys at a South Carolina sports show, they have a nice website and advertise to hunters that have applied for state lottery hunts. Apparently they buy the address list from the state. Turns out these were not the people I met at the show. I sent them $1400 for a five day Hunt.

Three days before the hunt Rich called and said no elk on the property due to drought and hot weather. He suggested we reschedule a month later so we did. Same deal the next month he called couple days before the hunt and appoligized with the news of no elk. He offered to refund the money to avoid having a bad trip.

Its been five five months of lies about check in the mail.

I will never again book a hunt without a written contract. State law in Colorado allows you to sue for three times the amount of the theft plus attorney fees.I hired a lawyer and got my money refunded.

Consider The law office of Nayler & Geisel in Pueblo Colorado. Mr Geisel got Steve and Rich to refund my money. He charges $200 for a demand letter.
